In Binocs, each day is part of one week, each week is part of one month and each month is part of one year.
It seems logical, but what if a week has days in 2 different months or in 2 different years? What are the rules to know to which month or year a week is assigned?
- Weeks start on Monday and finish on Sunday.
- A week is assigned to the month of its "Monday".
For example, there are 5 weeks in April, because there are 5 Mondays in that month. May 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th will therefore be assigned to April as well.
- Based on the ISO week date definition, the first week of the year is the one containing the 4th of January.
For example in January 2019, week 1 started on 2018-12-31 and finished on 2019-01-06. So December, 31st 2018 is assigned to January 2019.
Other example, in January 2021, the first week of the year will start on Monday January, 4th. So January 1st, 2nd and 3rd 2021 are assigned to 2020, in the last week of the year which is week 53.
